Rimedo Labs Brings Smart Automation to Open RAN with rApps and xApps at MWC 2025

At Mobile World Congress 2025, we caught up with Marcin Dryjanski, CEO and Principal Consultant at Rimedo Labs, a spin-off from academia that has built a strong reputation in the Open RAN space for its work on rApps and xApps. Rimedo has a growing portfolio of 11 rApps and xApps addressing everything from energy savings and traffic steering to security threats like jamming and signalling storms.

At MWC, Rimedo showcased two powerful demos: one with T-Labs on smart cell switching using real data from Deutsche Telekom, and another focused on RF channel reconfiguration using Juniper Networks and Keysight platforms. With its recent entry into the AI-RAN Alliance, Rimedo is positioning itself to push Open RAN further toward predictive, data-driven automation, especially as the Near Real-Time RIC matures and 6G begins to take shape.
